We can work out how much you need from the length and width of your garden. If you have a garden which is a normal rectange then the process is easy enough: simply measure the length (the long side) and the width (the shorter side), then input the details to the calculator above.
The measurements are shown on the image to the left which shows a standard rectangular lawn. Measurements are taken in metres.
If your garden is not a regular rectangle you must split it up into seperate rectangles to calculate each area. The main thing to remember is that the artificial grass rolls must all be laid in the same direction because the fibres fall in a certain direction and must align from each roll to the next. This means that it might take a bit of thought to determine the best direction to lay the rolls so that you minimise cutting of the surface and subsequent wastage.
Once you have split your lawn into rectangular areas measure the width and length of each area and input these numbers into the calculator above.
The other possibility is that your lawn may not have straight sides at all and is made up of an irregular shape. If the lawn is close to oval or circular in shape then you can simply treat it as a rectangle as shown in the image to the left. Simply draw an approximation of your lawn's shape on paper and bound it with a rectangle similar to the dashed line shown. Measure the length and width of this rectange similar to above but this time you'll have to measure through the centre of the lawn.
Lastly, if your lawn is a very irregular shape you'll have to make even more approximations. You can split it up into several rectangles which cover each part of the lawn and hopefully don't leave too much empty space outside of the lawn but inside your dashed rectangles. This space will end up being wasted artificial grass as it will need to be cut off to fit your lawn.
In today’s society, people with limited time are finding it more difficult to care for natural lawn. Greengauge gives everyone the opportunity to have the feel and look of a natural grass whilst ensuring children can enjoy playing in a domestic outdoor environment.
The versatile, low maintenance and all-weather characteristics are well known in the sports world, and now applications are increasingly being sought within the domestic market as well. Indoor and outdoor artificial grass solutions offer comfort and durability, whilst gardens, patios and decking can be transformed with an artificial grass makeover.
In recent years, the demand for artificial grass within lifestyle properties has grown, where the look and feel of the property is paramount but the need to reduce maintenance costs and time is a must. No longer are chemicals needed to encourage natural growth and pollution increased through fuel use during grass cutting.
Greengauge Artificial Turf can be used for a variety of applications from lawns, patios, summerhouses, access ramps, walkways, dog runs, raised beds, play areas, roof terraces and sun decks to window displays, wall mounted pieces, museum exhibitions and art installations.
