Allan from the Greengauge team installed – Greengauge Needle punch “Olive Green” Surface in April 2023 at Rosslare Bowling Club, Ireland.
Green Valour was used on the Banking.

Greengauge appoint Peter Hiom
Greengauge are delighted to announce the appointment of industry expert Peter Hiom as our representative in Spain. Peter has worked in the indoor and outdoor bowling surface industry for nearly 40 years. Starting with his own installation company he introduced new fitting methods that are still used today. Peter has been in charge of installations in over 20 countries Worldwide. He moved into sales 18 years ago and has worked with most of the clubs in Spain during that time.

Sad news emanating from our friends at Santa Maria BC Spain: despite having a fantastic Greengauge Needle Punch surface to play on the owners decided to close the facility in 2022 for non-bowling reasons.
A sad day for our Sport and the members of Santa Maria, and the loss of a great bowls facility.
Before the new Greengauge Needle Punch surface was installed in 2017, the Club were struggling to attract and retain bowling members. Mr & Mrs W members at Santa Maria commented “the fantastic new Greengauge surface has had an incredible impact this last year. We have attracted 25 new members who are all loving their bowls” Running at around 13.5 seconds it was described as “the perfect SPEED for our members”
With Greengauge installing its new and improved FORMULA ONE bowling green underlay earlier in the season word soon got round that the speed and quality of the surface was just what Indoor Bowling Clubs were looking for. Mick Sharpe from Kingsthorpe IBC was aware of the great quality being reported and his Club placed an order for FORMULA ONE and on completion of all works was extremely satisfied with the 17.5 second timed outcome.
He commented ” this is exactly what our members were looking for, the Greengauge Team led by installer Chris Moore, the well known England International player, completed a terrific job” Greengauge MD Graham Robertson commented ” FORMULA ONE has taken a few years of research and development to get the speed and quality right. That hard work and investment with our partners Interfloor has paid off. We are confident FORMULA ONE will show the speed and consistency Indoor Clubs are looking for”
Greengauge successfully tendered for two jobs in Hong Kong at the end of 2017. The prestigious Hong Kong Football Club Indoor bowling Green along with an outdoor facility in the New Territories at Tuen Mun. HKFC decided for an Indoor Blue woven surface and Formula One underlay.
After installation the green was timed at a perfect 17.4 seconds. Just what the Club were looking for. The job was signed off on the 22nd December allowing the Greengauge staff to be home for Xmas. The Tuen Mun installation was completed in 4 days at the end of January. This was a replacement surface and underlay the Club chose the Greengauge recently upgraded Needle Punch outdoor surface which after install was timed at 13 seconds which was the ideal speed for the bowlers using this facility.
